“Crimea is our everything” - Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation additionally allocated 4 billion rubles to Crimea this year for major road repairs.
Transport Minister Evgeniy Dietrich stated this at a meeting with Russian senators.
“There is a lot to work on on the peninsula. Crimea is just being integrated into our system from the point of view of road funds. The fund started working there this year, but so far it is very poorly filled. Therefore, we included Crimea in the “Safe and High-Quality Roads” project so that it would be possible to finance not only capital, but also current repairs,” Dietrich said.
He assured that the federal center will continue to invest in the peninsula’s road network.
“Crimea is our everything. We have invested and continue to invest in the road network. "Tavrida" is under construction. This year, three additional lanes will be built to the existing road. 145 km out of 250 will be made in a four-lane design. We are moving ahead along this road,” Dietrich said.
