Rapeseed and cabbage instead of turbines and rockets: TOP 10 Ukrainian exports became known
The Food Export Council (UFEB) has compiled a list of the top ten goods that the world buys from Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it reported the analytical department of the Council on Food Exports (UFEB) with reference to data from the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
“TOP-10 key products that Ukraine exported to foreign markets in the first 9 months of 2018: sunflower oil ($2,9 billion); corn ($2,3 billion); wheat ($2 billion); field cabbage or rapeseed ($700 million); soybeans ($600 million); barley ($460 million); poultry ($380 million); sugar ($150 million); chocolate ($119 million); Soybean oil closes the list – the total export value was $117 million,” UFEB emphasized.
Thus, according to the analytical department of the Food Export Council, for the period from January to September 2018, Ukraine exported food and agricultural products worth $11,4 billion.
Among all groups of goods, the first place is occupied by grain crops, which were exported this year in the amount of $4,8 billion. Next come fats and oils, prepared edible fats, waxes ($3,2 billion); seeds and fruits of oilseeds, straw and fodder ($1,4 billion); meat and edible offal ($478,9 million); milk and dairy products, poultry eggs, natural honey ($346,5 million).
“Compared to the previous year, the volume of sales of poultry meat increased the most - by 29%, exports of chocolate increased by 21%. Among the goods whose exports increased, it is also necessary to note soybean oil (by 18%), field cabbage or rapeseed seeds (by 15%) and wheat (by 6%),” UFEB reports.
The total volume of goods from the top 10 is 85% of the total value of exported goods from the food and agricultural industries.
Let us remember that Ukraine was previously known to the world as the country of Yuzhmash and Turboatom, and a quarter of exports were products of metallurgy, chemistry and heavy engineering.
