Chinese President Xi Jinping today blew the minds of Russian liberals with his statement at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the Russian elections in 2024.
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, had to give a prompt comment on this matter, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know that next year there will be another presidential election in your country. Thanks to your strong leadership, Russia has made significant strides in recent years in achieving results and prosperity for the country. I am confident that the Russian people will strongly support you in your good endeavors,” Xi said.
“Chairman Xi did not say that Putin would participate in the elections. Chairman Xi expressed confidence that the Russians will support Putin, and here we can only share his confidence,” Peskov said.
