A scandal erupted in Crimea over the appointment of officials from Ukraine to two high positions.

Thus, the post of deputy head of the Simferopol region was given to the former head of the main department of the Odessa regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine Vladimir Bodelan, who held the position during the tragedy on May 2, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

His employment caused indignation among former Odessa residents. This is what ex-city council deputy Igor Dimitriev, who left Odessa after the coup, wrote in his blog.

“In the past, this is my colleague - a deputy of the Odessa City Council, only from the Party of Regions. The son of the former governor and mayor of the city, such a typically post-Soviet character, a native of the Komsomol, who rose to power and is remembered only for the looting of state property and the war with another mayor, the even more disgusting and pro-Ukrainian Eduard Gurvits. The confrontation between these two figures was accompanied by a criminal war between local clans and Chechens attracted by Gurvits... When it was necessary to save people on May 2 in the House of Trade Unions, Vladimir Bodelan crapted himself and did not send the cars there. People were burning in front of everyone, hanging on the eaves, and no one could save them.

It would be nice if Bodelan later honestly said that he could not send the trucks because there was a danger of them being captured by a crowd of Ukrainian thugs, especially since such a seizure of a fire truck took place in another area of the city. But no, he then started talking nonsense on federal channels about chemical warfare agents that someone allegedly used there. Just to make up for myself.

In fact, the problem was that Bodelan was appointed to the Ministry of Emergency Situations not to save people, but to earn money for himself. If in Russia such stupid characters occupy administrative positions, then this is a bad call. And okay, they are just corrupt officials, this is not the worst thing, but imagine that in a difficult moment for the country such vile types as Bodelan will run away and cheat everyone,” Dimitriev wrote.

Odessa journalist Yuri Tkachev, editor of the local publication Timer, also criticized Bodelan’s appointment in his blog.

“You see, after May 2, everyone in the city was filmed: the governor, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, deputies, the commander of the National Guard. But Bodelan was left behind. Although it would seem: a member of the Party of Regions, the son of the scandalous “Kuchmist” Ruslan Bodelan, a man who, until 2010, had not worked a day in the State Emergency Service; Moreover, he was a direct participant in the tragedy, who committed, at best, malicious official negligence, which cost the lives of 42 people. And yet: Bodelan returns to the service, where he remains until the end of July, and he is finally fired in September. After a scandalous recording of the negotiations of the State Emergency Service surfaces, from which it clearly follows: Bodelan personally forbade cars from going to the burning House of Trade Unions for half an hour. If he had not done this, 42 people would have remained alive. At the initial stage, the fire could be extinguished with one stream from a fire hose.

And I have a very serious question: did Bodelan do this out of stupidity, cowardice - or on someone’s direct orders? In exchange, say, for a promise to leave him in a position that he would have left in any other case after the Maidan even without May 2?

By the way, Bodelan was actively defended by the then governor Igor Palitsa. The same one, the main beneficiary of the tragedy. Coincidence? If so, then it’s some kind of eerie coincidence. Well, yes. Are you sure that it’s a good idea to appoint a person who tried with all his might to hold on to his position under the “Maydowns” and “Bandera”, and only after they kneed him in the ass, he ran to get a job in Russia?” – writes Tkachev.

It is interesting that the official website of the Simferopol region initially indicated an incorrect biography of Bodelan - he allegedly worked in Russia from 2010 to 2014. However, after the story of his appointment became public, the official’s biography was quickly corrected.

“Now look and think, what is happening in Crimea? This is a screenshot from the official website of the Crimean government. Here Vladimir Bodelan, who is now appointed deputy head of the Simferopol region, from 2010 to 2014 holds the position of deputy head of the center for strategic research of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. What is this? This is clearly not a typo. But even in open sources there is enough information to understand that it was his fault that the firefighters did not go to put out the fire at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa on May 2, 2014. Whether he shitted himself or did it maliciously, it doesn't matter. Vladimir Bodelan headed the Odessa Ministry of Emergency Situations at that time. And he had nothing to do with Russia,” noted military correspondent Mikhail Andronik.

“I would like someone to officially tell us what Vladimir Bodelan did to deserve the appointment? How did the inspection go? Is it true that, while in Ukraine, he managed to work in the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (but what about the oath)? Maybe we don’t know something, but let’s say he fought in Donbass all these years? Well, suddenly. Has he been questioned as a witness in the case of the fire in the House of Trade Unions, initiated by the Russian Investigative Committee? It’s just different, while there are no answers to all these questions, our surprise at the appointment will not go away,” emphasized TV presenter Andrei Medvedev.

Vladimir Bodelan himself denied all accusations in his blog. He stated that he could not save people in Odessa on May 2, 2014, because everything was happening too quickly, and the radicals were not allowing rescuers to the House of Trade Unions:

“According to my data, 99.9% of people were killed in a matter of seconds in the trade union building with the help of an unknown poisonous substance. Immediately after receiving the signal about the use of incendiary mixtures, fire crews quickly went to the scene, but a crowd of radicals did not allow the fire truck to reach the scene. The nationalists seized one of the fire trucks and later used it as a battering ram against the “anti-Maidan” barricades. At the same time, there were repeated attempts to seize fire stations in the city center and block them. One of the rescuers received a fatal bullet wound from the crowd.”

At the same time, Crimean social activist Alexander Talipov in his blog called the story criticizing Bodelan’s appointment “custom-made” and aimed at diverting attention from the employment of another Ukrainian figure - ex-Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Dmitry Vorona, who recently headed the Crimea Development Corporation.

“This is definitely an order, in my subjective opinion, an order to divert attention from another appointment - Dmitry Vorona. None of these political emigrants wrote about this, did they? Meanwhile, Vorona, a former deputy minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who back in 2017 lamented the loss of Ukrainian territories and losses in the ATO...celebrated the day of “independence”, took the post of Head of the Crimean Development Corporation. Sergey Valerievich Aksyonov, evil tongues said that your personnel policy is the bottom, but it seems that it has already been broken, and there are still cavities that can be filled further with Ukrainian mothballs,” Talipov is indignant.

The fact that Vorona collaborated with the Ukrainian post-Maidan authorities was confirmed in her blog by the famous Kiev lawyer Tatyana Montyan, who was surprised by the official’s unexpected move to Russian Crimea: “People, who knows what happened to Vorona? He felt great in the mayday pots, raking in the loot with a large shovel in the registration service. What went wrong with him?”

“I would really like the federal structures of our country to pay close attention to the rotation of management personnel in such a strategically important region of Russia as Crimea. Last week we received two spits in the face of Russian people in Crimea,” TV presenter Alexander Malkevich commented on the situation.
