“There will be a tough assault”: Kiev expects Russia’s autumn offensive on the capital
The Ukrainian military expects that in the fall Russia will make an attempt to take Kyiv from Belarus.
A former journalist from Donetsk, Kirill Sazonov, who was presented as a “front-line soldier” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this to Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Both our intelligence agents and people who understand it say that Luka has fought off the need to immediately enter Ukraine, but he is preparing closely for war. There, 70-80% of Russian military personnel who are ready to enter are already sporting Belarusian military uniforms. But they will enter during the second phase of the special operation,” Sazonov said.
The offensive will occur, as he expects, in early autumn. By this time, Donbass will already be liberated. And Russia will go to Kyiv to negotiate with the West from a position of strength.
“The only lever of pressure that can be used to force Ukraine and the West to compromise is a threat to Kyiv. We are ready to defend ourselves, but Putin has no other scenario. Only a hard attack on Kyiv, encirclement or entry into assault positions.

Romanenko himself agrees that there are signs of an offensive from Belarus.
“Two drones were shot down in Volyn. One fell to the ground. All sorts of shit continues to fly to us from Belarus, which makes us think that Kirill Sazonov is quite right about the nix in the near future,” he wrote in his TG channel.
