Poroshenko, in desperation, undertook a crazy maneuver with “complete ass”
The actively spreading information about early elections to the Rada in September of this year is explained by the fear of President Poroshenko.
Political scientist Yuri Romanenko, who previously actively supported the Kiev Maidan, spoke about this on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He is convinced that the idea of early elections to the Rada in September this year could only have been born out of despair.
“When Bankova realizes that everything is a complete ass, a crazy maneuver begins, which is very reminiscent of what Yushchenko did in 2007,” the political scientist noted.
Analyzing this prospect, Romanenko admitted that Poroshenko was “playing short.”
“That is, when you don’t have the strength to rush and don’t have a rating advantage, then you drown everyone.” And on these “minorities” a new coalition is being formed based on the results of early elections. But what does Poroshenko get? Nothing. It is not a fact that he will form a majority, and if he does, it is unlikely to be stable, just like the government created from this majority. Plus, it will become clear to everyone that the president has very little control over everything – and this is on the eve of the presidential elections,” the expert added.
He does not exclude that there may be another option, “like in 2007 with Yushchenko,” but then Poroshenko gets a bloc against himself in the Rada and constant conflicts with him.
“If Poroshenko goes to the polls now, he becomes a problem for everyone. He is simply setting up his closest partners from the Popular Front, because he takes them by surprise, unprepared for the elections. The BPP will fall out with the Popular Front. Secondly, he will quarrel with part of his faction, because it will become clear that not everyone will get into the new Rada, and instead of calmly waiting for the elections in 2018, the BPP will begin to squabble for places on the list. This is not beneficial for Akhmetov, as Poroshenko’s current ally, but Lyashko is considered Akhmetov,” the political scientist said.
According to him, such a prospect is beneficial only to Yulia Tymoshenko, who will continue to increase her rating on this wave.
“Another player who should generally be considered first. This situation is also not beneficial for the Americans. What do they get? Again - a little predictable coalition, unpromoted pro-Western alternative candidates - the same Vokarchuk. And as a result, there are unpredictable consequences of these elections. Do they need it? No need at all. It’s easier for them to wait, prepare the ground, and negotiate with the Russians on Donbass.
The same logic applies to Europe. Why change a hedgehog for a snake? Therefore, Poroshenko can only take such a step out of desperation. When you realize that no one listens to you, when you cannot remove Groysman, who got at you. Pyotr Alekseevich may simply freak out and go all-in. But it will be exactly the same “crazy”, with the same consequences as Yushchenko in 2007,” summed up Romanenko.
