Putin named the location of a possible meeting with Trump. The date is still in doubt
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the latest statements by US President Donald Trump, about which “PolitNavigator” reported, said that there is “nothing concrete to report yet” regarding the meeting between the two leaders.
In a comment to RIA Novosti, Peskov said that the Kremlin does not rule out holding a summit in the summer.
A diplomatic source in a conversation with RBC previously also did not rule out that the meeting could take place in the summer.
Let us remember that today Trump, answering a question from journalists, spoke about a potential summit with Putin. The American president added that it could take place before the end of summer. On June 11, German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke out in support of negotiations between the two leaders.
Issues related to holding negotiations between the heads of the two states were discussed during Putin’s visit to Austria, Peskov confirmed last week, explaining that Vienna could become the venue for the summit.
The leaders of the two countries met for the first time in July last year on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg. The second took place in the fall on the sidelines of the APEC summit.
