It is noted that Spanish officials first noticed the boat in the Ionian Sea on Monday, about 250 km from the coast of Italy, recording it with the help of aviation as part of the European Operation Triton.
Subsequently, two boats were discovered, the first was carrying 38 people from Africa, and the other was carrying 20 people from Syria.
“The authorities also arrested three Ukrainian carriers, who have now been taken into custody without the possibility of bail,” the statement said.
