The Verkhovna Rada officially declared Russia an “aggressor state”
Kyiv, January 27 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – The Verkhovna Rada, at an emergency meeting on Tuesday, caused by the offensive of Novorossiya in the Donbass, approved a statement officially declaring Russia an “aggressor state.”

The text of the document was read by deputy Anna Gopko from the faction of the mayor of Lvov “Self-Help”.
The statement accuses Russia of supporting terrorists who do not want to implement the Minsk agreements.
Ukrainian deputies declare the involvement of the Russian Federation in the destruction of a civilian aircraft over Donbass and the tragedies in Volnovakha and Mariupol.
The Verkhovna Rada calls on other countries to recognize Russia as an aggressor, and the LPR and DPR as terrorist organizations.
The Ukrainian Parliament appeals to Western colleagues to “increase pressure on the Russian Federation,” including by introducing new sectoral sanctions, to force compliance with the Minsk agreements, return Crimea and release “all hostages.”
The statement was supported by 271 deputies.
The head of the Opposition Bloc faction, Yuriy Boyko, said that the ruling majority did not allow opponents to discuss the document, thus, the opinion of millions of voters in the South-East was ignored.
Deputy Yulia Tymoshenko expressed confidence that today's decision of the Rada to declare Russia an aggressor will allow us to hope for more active assistance to Kyiv from Western countries.
