Former ATO officer considers Strelkov an agent of Poroshenko and Turchynov
Having taken control of Slavyansk in the spring of 2014, armed formations under the command of Igor Strelkov helped the Kyiv authorities start a war against Donbass on the basis of a “Russian invasion.”

Such a statement was made by Ukrainian video blogger and former participant in the so-called ATO Alexander Medinsky during a Skype conference on the Open Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It seems to me that Strelkov is a pure agent of Petit, Turchinov, and the entire Popular Front. Strelkov came in and clearly said: “We are from Russia, we are GRU servicemen!” And this worked as a trigger: it turns out that foreign specialists invaded our country and organized armed resistance. They began to destroy our people. Then “Alpha” SBU suffered heavy losses. And immediately everything fell into the frame of propaganda that, they say, Russia attacked us. Russia, indeed, provided considerable support to Donbass, but what was meant was that Russian regular troops entered,” Medinsky said.
He also says that he was surprised when his battalion commander Krivonos asked the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Muzhenko to hit Strelkov’s convoy leaving Slavyansk, but he received a categorical refusal.
“Back then there was still aviation, everything was flying, everything was shooting. When Strelkov left Slavyansk, Krivonos reported, requesting air and artillery strikes on the column, but there was a categorical refusal from the General Staff. And then, live on air, Krivonos said to Muzhenko: “You are a traitor to Ukraine!”, which is why he, in fact, did not become commander of the Special Forces.
Then it became clearly clear to me that Strelkov was being “led.” Against the background of all this, Nelly Shtepa’s words that Strelkov was “turned on”, that he was paid and assisted, do not seem like the ravings of a crazy person. I fully admit that she, as a person who was at a certain level of leadership in the area, has a lot of information. And moreover, there is a very important point: as soon as Strelkov left without firing a single shot, the war immediately began,” said the former ATO officer.
