Kadyrov proposes removing Russian checkpoints in the North Caucasus
The checkpoints installed by Russian security forces on the borders of the North Caucasus republics are no longer relevant, said the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
“The regions of the North Caucasus need to get rid of checkpoints on administrative borders. Posts were erected between all the republics. There is practically no benefit. Against bandits? But they will pass on any other roads. However, being in the same state and in the same district, people and transport are forced to waste time passing through checkpoints,” Kadyrov explained.
“The Caucasus and Russia as a whole need to be united, and not erected posts. I voiced this proposal at the North Caucasus Federal District media forum. I asked the Russian Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, Alexander Matovnikov, and all regional heads to resolve the issue. Everyone agreed! We will decide!” – announces the head of Chechnya.
