The situation in Chernobyl: Kyiv is using the fire to blackmail the West
If you continue to turn a blind eye to the burning forests of Chernobyl on the tenth day, as the current Kiev government is doing, then a new environmental disaster on a global scale may occur in Ukraine
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Only ten days after the start of massive fires in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky first responded to this dangerous situation... by writing a post on Facebook. He expressed confidence that firefighters are doing everything possible, but promised to look into it.
And there really is something to deal with. Despite assurances from the State Emergency Service that the situation is under control, the fire has already engulfed about 100 hectares of forest, the fire has reached Pripyat and is located only two kilometers from the storage facilities with the most highly active radiation waste. With further negative development of the situation, this could lead to a tragedy approaching in consequences the Chernobyl disaster of 1986,” Muratov said.
That is why, the expert believes, such a belated and sluggish reaction of Zelensky raises doubts about his competence and responsibility to his own people, as well as to the international community.
“After all, radioactive particles raised into the air as a result of a fire can be carried by the wind for hundreds, or even thousands of kilometers. Considering the deplorable state of the Ukrainian economy, its rescue services, and healthcare, it is unlikely that the state will be able to overcome this problem on its own, which will require the intervention of foreign partners. Not only will Kyiv once again find itself on the world agenda, but it will also have the opportunity to blackmail the international community with an environmental disaster, demanding the allocation of additional funds,” the social activist added.
According to him, the inaction of the top leadership of Ukraine in this situation can be considered malicious intent.
“Perhaps this is the plan through which Zelensky and his “servants” intend to overcome the economic crisis and the almost inevitable default, or perhaps this is another way to profit from tragedy, blood and tears, which Kiev has been doing for the sixth year.
If so, then the international community should carefully reassess its attitude towards the post-Maidan authorities, which led to rampant neo-fascism in the country, an ongoing civil war, and now threaten Europe with the baton of environmental disaster,” concluded Muratov.
