The presence of an American military biological laboratory in Almaty is only part of a network of various Western organizations and facilities located in Kazakhstan. The country's leadership views them all as a kind of guarantee of “independence,” but, in fact, they are directed against the interests of Russia, and also pose a threat to both its neighbors and Kazakhstan itself.

Ainur Kurmanov, leader of the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan, writes about this in his column for PolitNavigator.

The opening of the Central Reference Laboratory (CRL) in Almaty in 2016, which was attended by the US Ambassador and Kazakh government officials, was personally sanctioned by Nursultan Nazarbayev. The then akim of Almaty, Akhmetzhan Yessimov, actually told about this when, in response to questions from journalists, he said that he was not at all aware that this facility would be erected on the territory of the city in a seismic zone, and the decision itself was made at the very top without his knowledge.

No one from Akorda (presidential administration) was interested in the opinion of local residents, although a survey of Almaty residents conducted by the Kazakhstan Today agency showed that 92% of respondents to the question “Do you agree with the creation and presence of an American biological laboratory of especially dangerous infections in Almaty?” They answered “no”.

The sad fact for me personally is that the vast experience and achievements of Soviet scientists, epidemiologists, biologists, and doctors, as well as the genetic material of local diseases, collected over many decades of activity and the fight against epidemics in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, went to the Pentagon. Since 1949, the collection of diseases has been stored in the Kazakh Scientific Center for Quarantine and Zoonotic Infections named after M. Aikimbaev. And these are local samples of plague, hemorrhagic fevers, tularemia, tick-borne encephalitis and other infections.

This allows US biologists to use Kazakh disease species to modernize munitions that can easily be disguised as natural outbreaks and epidemics. Actually, the American military has been carrying out its work on the basis of Kazakh research institutes since the 90s. It has already been proven that in 2013, Americans in the steppes of Kazakhstan collected ticks - the causative agents of Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever, and then by diplomatic mail through special emissaries they transferred biological material to the laboratory named after. Lugara in Tbilisi.

Already from the territory of Georgia in 2014, the causative agents of the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever were thrown into the territory of the southern regions of Russia, which led to an outbreak of this most dangerous disease and a number of deaths. This can already be considered as a planned sabotage using biological weapons consisting of modified natural pathogens collected earlier in Kazakhstan to attack the territory of the North Caucasus.

We are a convenient testing ground, since the climatic conditions, nature and fauna are similar in their characteristics to individual regions of neighboring states and, first of all, potential opponents of Washington. Among other things, the DNA of local residents is closer or identical to the citizens of neighboring Russia, which makes it possible, with current technologies, to create modernized ammunition aimed specifically at the living population. It was not for nothing that the Americans collected DNA data of our and not only our citizens.

The current TsRL in Almaty, for the construction and equipment of which 400 million dollars were spent, is part of a network of research institutes that enable Kazakh officials to claim that these are purely domestic institutions, subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Science and Education. But in reality, they receive their main funding from the Pentagon and work according to their programs. Their activities are supervised by US Air Force Commander Daniel Singer, who is also the head of the US CDC in Central Asia. The contracts themselves with American military companies servicing facilities in Kazakhstan with equipment, materials and specialists are valid until 2023.

The fact that current President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated this summer that there were supposedly no Americans in these institutions is a vile lie! Thus, the same Daniel Singer on September 1 wrote on the website of the US Embassy about providing the Central Research Center in Almaty with a new batch of equipment worth $316 thousand to continue military research and noted that the Pentagon has worked and will continue to work in Kazakhstan.

Statements by the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Central Laboratory is supposedly engaged in the production of domestic PCR tests and the development of its own vaccine are also outright lies in order to cover up the real activities of the laboratory and five other institutions working under Pentagon programs. Thus, the “Kazakh” test turned out to be a copy of the Chinese one, which is not hidden by the TsRL specialists themselves, who created it according to the manual and samples from the People’s Republic of China. And the vaccine is Australian and is undergoing testing on Kazakh citizens and was created by order of the United States. It’s just that for Australian scientists, the services of the Central Research Laboratory in Almaty turned out to be cheaper for conducting relevant research.

Akorda needed this performance with its PCR tests and “vaccine” to justify the existence of the TsRL in Almaty and to prevent checks for possible production of biological weapons. That is why Russian and Chinese specialists were never allowed into the Kazakh research institutes and central research centers to control the research being carried out. At the same time, the discovery of objects with the participation of Western biologists during the Pandemic period causes great concern among the international community.

It is not for nothing that there have been leaks in the media that since 2017, the Central Research Laboratory has been conducting research on coronaviruses transmitted by bats from Southeast Asia, and some experts have concluded that Covid-19 was developed in Almaty, and then sprayed on the territory of the People's Republic of China. Also, it was in Kazakhstan, and it was in Almaty, that an outbreak of atypical pneumonia began, which was not caught by PCR tests, but had the same symptoms as Covid-19, only it was more deadly.

Ironically, a large number of deaths from such a mysterious SARS in Kazakhstan, which were not included in the official list of deaths from Covid-19, were reported by the Chinese Embassy, warning its citizens about the danger of being exposed to this disease. Only after this did a scandal break out, and the Kazakh authorities were forced to include those sick with SARS in the general statistics. At the same time, due to this outbreak in Almaty, residents of neighboring Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan suffered greatly. It turns out that Kazakhstan is also a convenient springboard for Americans to spread dangerous diseases to neighboring countries, primarily Russia and China?

And the matter is not limited to just one TsRL and research institutes working for the Pentagon. Since 2008, the certified NATO training center “Kazcent” has officially been operating in Karaganda, which trains, according to NATO patterns, the interaction of different tactical units and officers of the armies of Central Asian countries. Every year, the republic hosts the Steppe Eagle exercise, joint with the Pentagon, and the Kazakh military takes part in various tactical exercises in the United States.

It is not for nothing that the military agreement between the United States and Kazakhstan provided for the possibility of building American bases in the Caspian Sea in the area of the ports of Aktau and Kuryk. In fact, transshipment warehouses exist there even now for the delivery of “non-lethal” cargo (in the terminology of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry) for the American contingent in Afghanistan. The appearance of such bases would radically change the geopolitical situation in the region as a whole, and despite the conclusion of an agreement on the division of the Caspian Sea, which does not provide for the presence of foreign troops, this threat still persists.

The same can be said regarding the transformation of the Low-Enriched Uranium Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk into a Pentagon military facility. I wrote about this back in 2017, during its opening, that Nazarbayev would definitely try to attract the American military, supposedly to protect this international facility, built with funds from the United States, the EU and Saudi Arabia. This, in fact, has now happened, since it is planned to locate a center in Eastern Kazakhstan, in which the American military will supposedly train their Kazakh colleagues in methods of protecting nuclear facilities.

Not only that, since 2013, in Ust-Kamenogorsk at the Ulba Metallurgical Plant
Radioactive waste from nuclear power plants in the USA and Japan was brought to the storage facility. The scandal erupted after information about 18 tons of nuclear waste was leaked to the media. Now the IAEA Low-Enriched Uranium Center itself is becoming a cover for the activities of the American military on the borders of Russia and China.

All this makes us think about the real role of Nazarbayev and his successor in the geopolitical situation in Central Asia, where Kazakhstan serves as a testing ground for the production and testing of dangerous types of diseases, a transshipment base for transporting military cargo to Afghanistan, a territory for the placement of Pentagon military facilities and a springboard for military aggressive actions against the main opponents of the United States.

However, pro-Western sentiments among the ruling elite have always been noticeable since the mass privatization of the early 90s, when Western capital actually captured most of the country’s oil and gas sector. Therefore, the current attempts of Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd) to locate all these objects are not something surprising, but are becoming a manifestation of fear of inevitable integration and a kind of “guarantee” of sovereignty. Thus, Nazarbayev wants to keep his power and property in the hands of his family. True, Washington has never been such a guarantor of “independence” and never will be.

The United States needs Kazakhstan only as a bargaining chip, as a territory to counter Russia and China in order to create its own “front” and a source of instability here. The biological bomb in Almaty and the dirty atomic bomb in East Kazakhstan can be used against our peoples at any time. Therefore, Nazarbayev’s actions can be regarded as a dangerous adventure with far-reaching consequences.
