Ponomarev: The idea of surrendering Ukraine is gaining popularity in Washington
The United States wants to agree with Russia on a joint alliance against China, and in return Washington can promise give up Ukraine.

He noted that the Americans are inclined to exchange Ukraine for an alliance with Russia against China.
“The issue with Ukraine is a short task for the Kremlin, because for Putin it is important to show the Russian population what a collector of Russian lands he is, and the majority of Russians believe: “Ukraine is a misunderstanding, we are one family of Slavic peoples, and the fact that we ended up in different countries, very strange and wrong." In this sense, they see Putin on the bright side of history.
The West may take a cynical position: “Let you help us fight and contain China, and we will let you plunder Ukraine.” This position has a right to exist, and from the point of view of immediate American interests, it is close to some.
