Serbia is holding consultations with Rosatom regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant
Serbia is holding consultations with Rosatom regarding the construction of nuclear power plants using Russian technologies.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated this in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We hadn't thought about it before, but now we're starting to think about it very seriously. I will sincerely say that for us the problem is finances, since large nuclear power plants cost over 10 billion. And we agreed that our national debt should always be less than 60%. We must not jeopardize the future of our children. But now we are considering the issue of nuclear power plants and many other issues together with Rosatom. We need additional consultations with our Russian partners,” Vucic said.
He explained that he started thinking about building a nuclear power plant after the European Union decided to recognize nuclear energy and gas as carbon neutral.
