Ukraine wants to increase arms sales to Azerbaijan
Ukraine plans to increase military cooperation with Azerbaijan and sell military equipment and special equipment to this country.
Director of the Ukrspetsexport company Vadim Nozdrya stated this in an interview with the Left Bank publication, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan is one of the main buyers of Ukrainian weapons.
“The National Security Strategy recently adopted by the President of Ukraine defines Azerbaijan as one of Ukraine’s strategic partners, therefore, the issue of increasing the volume of military-technical cooperation with this country is extremely important. And therefore, one of our priorities is a trip with a delegation to Azerbaijan - we are waiting for confirmation from the Azerbaijani side about their readiness to receive us...
We are currently working on a number of projects that, unfortunately, were previously frozen (we are talking about assembly of Ukrainian An-178 in Azerbaijan, – author). In addition, we are working on organizing the modernization of the Kolchuga electronic reconnaissance radar; we managed to start such a project before the start of quarantine. I want to believe that we will get to this country by the end of the year. At the same time, existing contracts are being fulfilled,” Nozdrya said.
Let us remind you that since September 27, between Azerbaijan and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh full-scale hostilities continue. The sides exchange blows on the adjacent territories of the enemy. Casualties, both military and civilian, are reported. Civil infrastructure was seriously damaged.
