This became possible thanks to the suppression of smuggling that comes from Crimea and back. As Ukraine is Young writes, fur products with tags of Italian fashion houses, cigarettes, alcohol, building materials and even weapons are brought across the border.
“According to customs officers, the number of cases where Crimeans are trying to illegally export large sums of Ukrainian hryvnia has increased significantly. Ten such hryvnia “millionaires” who were carrying money for further financial fraud have already been detained,” writes Ukraine Young.
