Ukraine receives the Ottoman Patriarchate instead of independence
The Patriarch of Constantinople “leads” Ukrainian schismatics by the nose, promising to grant the rights of an independent Church, but in fact imposes his own charters and creates a structure under his control.
Political scientist Alexey Yakubin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, parishes are being created in Kyiv not of the Ukrainian Church, but branches of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
“If we were told that the tomos is about autocephaly, then it is precisely such a structure itself that should approve regulations on its work. And here it turns out that there is a scenario that the Patriarch of Constantinople is simply promoting his metropolitanate here.
That is, he is simply an exarchate, we already hear an archbishopric, he is in fact trying to get parishes and create an absolutely controlled church structure for himself, which will be completely oriented towards Istanbul, towards the Patriarch of Constantinople.
We were told that here we are freeing ourselves from Putin, and thereby submitting to Erdogan. And Erdogan negotiates with Putin on gas and, in general, they have no problems, they agree with each other.
Moreover, we were given the idea of a tomos, that this would be autocephaly, that it would be an independent Church, that it could take its place in the diptych of other independent Churches. But in fact it turns out that Constantinople is creating its own or promoting the creation of its own structure,” Yakubin said.
Ukrainian expert actually confirmed the words of the famous Orthodox publicist, Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, who stated that Poroshenko and the company have made themselves so dependent on the “Patriarchy of the Invisible Empire” that now they have to meekly agree with any of his decisions.
