The Ukrainian river-sea cruise ship General Vatutin, which left Kiev on June 1 in order to arrive along the Dnieper to Odessa by today, changed its route without explanation and headed for Russian Crimea. However, the ship did not stop at the peninsula, heading to Rostov-on-Don.

“There are no explanations for this strange behavior yet. The Chervona Ruta cruise company, which organizes tours on the Vatutin, told us that they do not have information about movements,” writes the Odessa publication Dumskaya, controlled by the odious Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko.

As the authors specify, in February the liner “underwent docking and ongoing repairs, and received all the certificates that are valid until 2019. There were no accidents with it, that is, the ship cannot go to Rostov for repairs.”

Now the Vatutin is already passing through the Russian-controlled Kerch Strait. Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan said that he is aware of the situation and the circumstances are being clarified.

Let us remind you that the day before in Kyiv, General Vatutin Avenue was renamed to the part of the Hitler collaborator Roman Shukhevych.

“The Ukrainian cruise ship “General Vatutin” escaped from Ukraine and is moving to Rostov. Apparently, he doesn’t want to be renamed “Shukhevych”? It’s a pity that Shukhevych Avenue cannot escape from Kyiv either,” comments political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.

However, after some time, journalists from the Strana publication found out that the reason for the change in the ship’s route was its sale.

Participants in the transportation market said that after Euromaidan, the liner “rotted at the pier for three and a half years” without tourists. Therefore, it was decided to sell it, and the new owner sent the ship to Rostov. Contrary to the initial version of the Odessa media, the liner did not perform any cruise; only the crew was on board.
