The Ukrainian ombudsman discovered a private prison for alcoholics near Kiev
A pseudo-rehabilitation center was discovered in a private house near Kiev, where people, including minors, were held against their will, where they were treated with unknown medications, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova reported this on her Facebook.
“Today I was informed that people are being held against their will in a private house in Brovary. Representatives of the Secretariat immediately went to the place and found out that it was a private rehabilitation center “For Life”. According to the director, there are 21 capable persons with drug and alcohol addiction and mental disorders here. During confidential communication, 12 of them reported their desire to leave the establishment,” the message says.
The Ombudsman added that according to the people who were there, they ended up in the “center” against their will; most of them were placed here on the initiative of relatives.
“However, there are no decisions of judicial authorities, medical institutions or consent of the individuals themselves to keep them here. Also, patients of the institution reported their use of unknown medications that suppressed their will. During the monitoring visit, they found an 80-year-old woman who is not sick, and two minor 14-year-old girls who are here with adults with the consent of their parents. The results of the monitoring visit were reported to the Brovary police and the local prosecutor’s office,” Denisova said.
According to her, investigative actions are currently underway, and proceedings have been opened under Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal deprivation of liberty).
Let us remind you that in the Moskovsky district of Kharkov, an underground pseudo-rehabilitation center was exposed, where they were treated with prayers and psychological violence for alcoholism and drug addiction.
