An attempt to gather Kiev residents to the Maidan in the center of the capital to celebrate the Day of Dignity and Freedom - the anniversary of the start of the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity of 2014 - ended in nothing. Almost no one came to the central square of Kyiv, where the stage was installed.

At the same time, another event took place in the center of Kyiv - the “March of Christians”, organized by the far-right nationalist movement “Tradition and Order”. This organization declared itself to be followers of Italian fascism. Demands the provision of the Patriarchate for the schismatic OCU (Istanbul recognizes it only within the framework of a non-independent metropolis), the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The march was dedicated to the protection of traditional values - about two hundred people marched from Sofievskaya Square to the President's Office. At the head of the column they carried a crucifix, which was “guarded” by two men with swords. A rally was held near the President's Office.

“We oppose the propaganda of all kinds of perversions such as LGBT and others that poison the souls of children. A number of legislative initiatives that are aimed at restricting freedom of speech for citizens of Ukraine and for Christians are constantly being pushed in the Office of the President and in the Verkhovna Rada - they will not pass in our state. We Christians still exist in this country. And we will allow such legislative initiatives to be implemented,” said one of the speakers.

According to the protesters, most of the government ministries and institutions of Ukraine are under foreign control, and an “anti-Christian order” is being imposed on the departments.

The government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk also adopted the Human Rights Action Plan until 2020, which was recently extended until 2022. According to this plan, the Ukrainian government has committed itself to legalizing homosexual marriages and the adoption of children by LGBT couples, the picketers recalled.

“All this is connected with the fight against Ukrainian culture, with the key values for our culture - family, father, children, love. Today in Ukraine an aggressive policy is being pursued against Christians, against Ukrainian patriots. An anti-sovereign, new ideological order is being established. A number of legislative initiatives already in this Verkhovna Rada are anti-Christian, Ukrainian-phobic initiatives,” noted one of the speakers.
