“On the “Contacts” page (where they offer “Contact us” - well, well, now) there is a famous portrait of Stalin with Voroshilov against the backdrop of the Kremlin. The menu includes a “Stalin-style snack” and a snack called “Russian Cellar”. At first I wanted to joke, but it didn’t work out. This is not funny, not funny at all. It’s sickening,” Barabash wrote.

Disgust did not stop the film critic from visiting the establishment where she tried to take a photo. However, the waiters in the tunic forbade him to take photographs. Barabash managed to remove only the portrait of Stalin above the fireplace and Dzerzhinsky under the deer antlers.

“Two portraits. In places of honor. Center of Moscow. One kilometer from the Kremlin. The waiter is surprised: “Why did you all decide that the name of our establishment has something to do with repression?” - "Is not it so?" – I’m already surprised. - "Of course not. NKVD means People's Cuisine of the Great Power." - “And besides this, you didn’t have anything in mind?” - "Of course not". - “Why then are Stalin and Dzerzhinsky in the most prominent places?” - “Are you against it?” - “Yes, I’m against it, of course. And not just me." “But there are many more of those who don’t mind.” His face expresses immense pride in his establishment and the quiet dignity of a self-made Russian businessman,” Barabash wrote.

The name of the restaurant evoked opposite feelings in the Ural blogger Sergei Kolyasnikov.

“I’ll have to go, if necessary. Sit under the portrait of Iron Felix and eat a juicy steak, enjoying the subtle aroma of liberal farts and looking at a single picket outside the frosty window,” Kolyasnikov wrote.
