Moscow announced preparations for a “drain” of Donbass
Yesterday's news about the departure of the writer Zakhar Prilepin from Donbass, where he was listed as deputy battalion commander of the DPR, is evidence of the abandonment of the fight for Novorossiya and the consolidation of the current, reduced borders of the proclaimed republics of Donbass.
Journalist Alexander Chalenko, who left Kyiv and lives in Moscow, writes about this on his blog.
“That’s it, Zakhar Prilepin is leaving the DPR army. This means there will be no liberation campaign. Peace, and this will last for a long time,” he predicts, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In turn, Russian observer Egor Kholmogorov writes about “the creeping next attempt to drain Donbass” - he saw signs of it not only in Prilepin’s departure, but also in the publication of relevant “insiders” in Telegram channels considered close to the authorities.
“There are already too many supporting points: pre-summit non-Zygarevism – treatises “Russians are not entitled to any irredents” – recall of symbolic volunteers from Donbass,” in particular, Kholmogorov gives examples.
