The Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged a water supply system in the DPR with mortar fire in retaliation for the deaths of foreign mercenaries and saboteurs.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The enemy continues to conduct targeted terror of the population of the republic. Ukrainian commanders, using seasonal weather conditions, are trying to create a humanitarian disaster in the Donbass, disabling critical civilian infrastructure.
Thus, the commander of the 35th brigade, criminal Palace, considered that disabling the Seversky Donets - Donbass water pipeline, the section of which passes in the area of responsibility of his formation, will allow rehabilitation in the eyes of the command of the Joint Forces Operation and the Navy, for those previously lost as a result failed sabotage raid subordinate militants,” Astrakhan said.
According to him, the brigade commander did not take into account that this water supply system provides drinking water to the population located on both sides of the line of combat contact, and its actions are a crime against the civilian population of Donbass.
“At the JFO headquarters, recognizing their miscalculation and another uncontrolled initiative of Palace, they agreed to provide a ceasefire for repair and restoration work in the specified area. Currently, repair crews have begun restoring the damaged section of the water pipeline,” the department representative added.
The situation with the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempts to damage vital infrastructure was commented on by historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.
