Russian-speaking Ukrainians dying in battle with the Russians must understand that this is only “the first step in a long process of decolonizing themselves.”
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov, who promotes rabid Russophobia, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many people can say that there is resistance of the Russian-speaking population against the Russian-speaking occupier. Sounds amazing. I bow my head to this; I always interpret this phenomenon of the Russian-speaking patriot in my own way. But this is the first step, this is a rebellion. Conscious, principled, heroic rebellion against the enemy. But this is only the first step towards further de-Russification.
The second step after rebellion should no longer be rebellion as such, but the denial of the enemy. All psychological strategies of resistance and repression of trauma are based on this. First you rebel, then you deny. We are going through the riot brilliantly. The number of Russian-speaking patriots is evidence of this,” argued Drozdov.
However, he warned those who have embarked on the “path of correction” that they should not stop there.
“This is a wonderful phenomenon for Ukraine, which is decolonizing. However, without the second step it will be useless. When you reject everything that is hostile from yourself - language, culture, goods, your habits. Everything from economics to abstraction. And this is your liberation, a solemn, festive act of liberation from colonization, this is wonderful. This is worth living, fighting and dreaming for. For this it is worth winning, because this is victory,” said the Russophobe.
