This was reported by the secretary of the Uman City Council Lyudmila Kirilyuk.
According to her, video cameras are installed throughout the city. In particular, in the area where the grave of the mentor of pilgrims, Rabbi Nachman, is located. Three cameras were installed there.
“Some cameras were installed earlier. This year we supplied even more. That is, law enforcement officers and anyone can go to the website “Online broadcast of webcams in the city of Uman” and monitor order and security during religious holidays,” the official said.
Let us remind you that this year the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah falls on October 3-4. The pilgrims will stay in the city of Uman until October 7, as they always arrive earlier.
Last year, clashes between Ukrainian nationalists and Hasidim were recorded in Uman.
