The turbines delivered to Crimea were modernized so that Siemens has nothing to complain about
Siemens turbines delivered to Crimea yesterday for power plants under construction, which will ensure the peninsula’s independence from Ukraine, were modernized in such a way as to circumvent Western sanctions.
Novaya Gazeta writes about this, citing a source in the government of Sevastopol.

According to the publication’s interlocutor, before the turbines were delivered to the peninsula, they were modified at Rostec factories to such an extent that they can no longer be called a Siemens development.
“Therefore, there can be no talk of any violation of EU rules by the German company,” the official said.
The newspaper clarifies that the power of each delivered turbine is 235 MW, which should completely cover the electricity needs of the two largest cities of the peninsula: Sevastopol today consumes almost 230 MW per day, Simferopol - about 215 MW.
