This was stated by former people's deputy and ally of the ousted President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine Taras Chernovol.

“This proposal of the Ministry of Justice and the government does not carry any risks, since no department, including the Cabinet of Ministers, and this follows from this draft law, has the right to repeal any regulations until they are examined, assessed and, accordingly, , filling in legislative actions. This is not a one-time cancellation, but a document that provides for a fairly long procedure - a certain period is determined during which the relevant acts must be canceled,” he said.

Chernovol noted that in the event of legislative changes, if there is a delay, an additional clause will be added to this document, which may delay the repeal of the law.

Let us recall that on April 24, Minister of Justice Pavel Petrenko expressed hope that after the May holidays the Verkhovna Rada will adopt a government bill providing for the abolition of all Soviet acts on the territory of Ukraine.

In particular, according to Petrenko, it is assumed that if this law is adopted, the operation of all by-laws - regulations, instructions, circulars - that were adopted during the Soviet Union and are in force today will be suspended. Such acts will be automatically terminated within 6 months after the law enters into force.

The second provision of this bill provides that the laws that were adopted by the Ukrainian SSR and the Soviet Union and are still in force on the territory of Ukraine will cease to be in effect within a year after the parliament adopts this law.

The third provision of the bill provides that the relevant codes, which were also adopted under the Soviet Union, “will cease to be valid within 3 years from the date of entry into force of this law, we sent it to parliament.”
