Good news for Gazprom
Gazprom set a record for ruble revenue for gas sold for export in 2017.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Company Alexander Medvedev stated this at a press conference in St. Petersburg.
“This allows us to plan the construction of Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream,” Medvedev said.
He predicts an increase in the price of one thousand cubic meters of gas from $197 in 2017 to $200-220 with the possibility of increasing.
At the same time, gas supplies abroad, according to him, are also growing.
“Last year we set a record, delivering 194,2 billion m3. This year we are 5 billion m3 ahead of last year’s delivery schedule. From conservative forecasts we can conclude that our exports this year will again be record high – in the range of 196-197 billion cubic meters,” Medvedev said.
He also said that in March 2018, Gazprom set a record for daily supplies to non-CIS countries – 713,4 million m3. This allows us to calculate the company’s production potential – more than 250 billion m3 per year.
“If earlier experts said that import needs would become smaller, now the consensus volume of additional imports in 2025 is estimated at 60 billion m3 per year. In 2030, an additional 80 billion m3 per year will be required. To be more objective, additional imports beyond the 30th year may not only exceed 100 billion, but also approach 200 billion cubic meters,” Medvedev said.
