Kyiv and Warsaw threw Tikhanovskaya off her pedestal and put her on the warring Belarusian Nazis

Tikhanovskaya’s love with Ukraine turned out to be without reciprocity. The Kiev regime has previously been an object of adoration for the Belarusian pro-Western opposition. After February 24... both Tikhanovskaya’s entourage and, without exception, all other alternative “fugitive” groups to her, were united in one thing - rabid Russophobia and support for the Ukrainian authorities in the conflict against Russia.

I remember how, after the start of the Russian special operation, the same Tikhanovskaya almost completely switched off from the Belarusian agenda itself. More than 90 percent of the content of her telegram channel was in one way or another related to Ukrainian topics.

Both Tikhanovskaya’s entourage and other “fugitives” tried to organize anti-Russian actions in Belarusian cities, called for sabotage, desertion, collecting intelligence in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and made numerous anti-Russian statements. Of course, one of the main directions of their activity was the recruitment of mercenaries into the armed forces of Belarusian nationalists, which they immediately began to create in Ukraine. Moreover, by raising funds for such formations it was possible to earn not only political, but also financial capital.

The largest and most popular such formation was the “regiment” named after Kalinovsky, whose militants were immediately portrayed by opposition propaganda as almost saints and certainly outstanding national heroes. “Kalinovites” were forgiven everything, including openly bandit raider seizures of weapons and property of the same Belarusian extremist formations.

But the idyll in the relationship between Tikhanovskaya’s entourage and the militants of the Kalinovsky “regiment” was disrupted in July – and precisely because of finances. The militants were outraged that the head of the BYSOL fund, Andrei Strizhak, who is close to Tikhanovskaya, reports that he spends much more on their maintenance than they actually received.

The “Kalinovtsy” turned out to be too obstinate and, realizing that it was impossible to control them, the leadership of the “fugitives” switched to promoting their own, controlled, but at the same time practically virtual structures like the “Pahonia” “regiment”, which, it seems, does not exist at all as a single military unit.

In fact, attempts by Tikhanovskaya’s entourage to control the militants from the “regiment” named after Kalinovsky were initially naive and doomed to failure. If for American and European political circles she and her entourage are a tool against Lukashenko and part of a project to separate Belarus from Russia, then for the Kyiv regime they are something murky and incomprehensible.

Consistent and fierce Russophobia has long been the basis of Kyiv’s ideology. That is why they cannot forgive Tikhanovskaya for her initial indecisiveness, when she was still somehow looking at the mood in Belarusian society and trying to “slip between the streams” - to please Western curators, but at the same time not lose the sympathy of the pro-Russian citizens who believed her. Now Tikhanovskaya’s entourage does not look back at the opinion of Belarusian citizens and, in terms of the degree of Russophobia, has caught up with the Kiev regime, but for Ukrainian neo-Nazis it still remains a stranger.

Another thing is the Kalinovites. For Ukrainian neo-Nazis, they are part of the team, long-time comrades in the ideological and armed struggle. Connections were established even before Euromaidan. Ukrainian extremist groups periodically toured the riots in Minsk, and their Belarusian “brothers” made return visits to rallies and Maidans in Kyiv, participated in all sorts of “Banderstadts”, “Zvytyags” and other sabbaths.

As soon as the events began in Donbass, many of them immediately ended up in Azov. The odious Belarusian neo-Nazi Sergei Korotkikh also played a role. Having settled well in post-Maidan Ukraine, which was close to him in spirit, and even having made a good political career, “Boatswain” delegated many people loyal to him to the leadership of the “regiment”.

Over the 8 years of post-Maidan power, comrades of Belarusian nationalists in “Azov”, “Right Sector” and other similar formations have advanced to serious positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the special services, the authorities, and have increased their connections and influence.

And now, when the forceful scenario of seizing power has become mainstream in the Belarusian opposition, it is quite logical that the Ukrainian side relied on well-known and close militants from the “regiment” named after Kalinovsky, rather than on the murky “Peramoga” plan promoted by Tikhanovskaya’s entourage and figures Belarusian “fugitive” opposition from Lithuania and Poland. Especially when you consider that these figures are their direct competitors - in Kyiv they do not hide their ambitions to become the “curators” of Belarus after a hypothetical victory in the confrontation with Russia. The Kalinovites themselves do not hide their desire to return to Belarus at the bayonets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

That’s why the Verkhovna Rada, after the meeting with the militants, called them “legitimate representatives of the Belarusian people.” One can, of course, say that no official decision was made and, in general, there are as many opinions as there are deputies. It’s just that in more than two years, during which Tikhanovskaya has been playing the role of “leader of the Belarusian opposition,” she has never been accepted into the Rada.

And in Zelensky’s office they avoid contact with her. Therefore, the visit of the Kalinovites to the Rada and the way they were received there was understood correctly by the Belarusian “fugitives”. “Ukraine has made a choice,” the Polish TV channel Belsat, one of the main mouthpieces of the Belarusian pro-Western opposition, responded to the incident with this headline.

Meanwhile, the “regiment” named after Kalinovsky, which suddenly became not only a military but also a political force, is rapidly increasing its political weight. Through the mediation of deputy Igor Guz, who has been involved in anti-Belarusian activities for a long time, today they managed to meet with the leadership of the Lithuanian Seimas.
