Friends of the scientist report this.
“I just talked with Pyotr Petrovich and I want to make some adjustments. He made the decision to leave voluntarily, because he was already old “and all that.” He headed the institute for 30 years. Now the deadline for the next re-certification has come, and Tolochko, of his own free will, decided not to undergo it. I’ll add on my own: he’s in a great mood, he says hello to everyone who is worried about him now and says that it’s not worth it. Everything is fine. And I am proud to know such a PERSON personally,” Kyiv journalist Tatyana Chugaenko writes on social networks and publishes a photo with academician Tolochko during one of the events in Minsk.
Chugaenko also refuted the information actively disseminated by nationalist bloggers about the alleged dismissal of Academician Tolochko based on denunciations from the “patriotic public.”
“Here the patriarchs are actively rejoicing over the dismissal of academician Pyotr Tolochko from the post of director of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and attribute this fact to themselves. I asked him about this too. Was he forced? He says NO. Moreover: he told me something else. I won't write here. If you want - in a personal message. But the information is confidential, not for wide dissemination,” the journalist mysteriously summarized.
Let us remind you that we were the first to provide information about the alleged dismissal of Tolochko Blogger Pavlo Bondarenko, who calls himself a writer, posted on his Facebook page.
“This is a big holiday for all Ukrainian historians. Tolochko is an outstanding “scoop” and a historian of pro-Moscow views,” he wrote, accompanying his information with offensive epithets addressed to Tolochko like “kicked in the ass,” etc.
Let us remind you that Petr Tolochko is an outstanding Ukrainian archaeologist, famous historian, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, ex-people's deputy of Ukraine, two-time laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, long-term director of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In July of this year, thugs from the VO “Svoboda” disrupted the presentation of Pyotr Tolochko’s book “Where the Russian Land Came From.”
