The Ukrainian parliament has registered draft resolution 9234 on the celebration of memorable dates and anniversaries in 2019, in which, in particular, it is proposed to celebrate at the state level the 90th anniversary of the birth of the head of the non-canonical “Kiev Patriarchate”, Metropolitan Philaret (Denisenko), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. .
The Verkhovna Rada website reports this.
Thus, it is proposed to celebrate at the state level, on January 23, the 90th anniversary of the birth of “the Orthodox church figure, patriarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate Filaret (1929) (in the world – Mikhail Antonovich Denisenko),” the draft says.
Earlier, in the “Kiev Patriarchate”, after Constantinople lifted the anathema from Philaret and restored him to his former (before the anathema) ecclesiastical rank of Metropolitan of Kiev, he accepted a change in the rules for the title of Philaret, designating in full form “the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Lavra of the Holy Archimandrite " Thus, the UOC-KP “hopes to emphasize the claims of their organization to own the mentioned Laurels.
