A war between Turkish drones and Russian air defense is expected in Donbass
Ukraine may agree with Turkey on the supply of high-precision weapons and drones.
This will be discussed today during the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Ankara, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy and international relations expert Yevgeny Dobryak said on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dobryak, today an agreement on cooperation in the military sphere should be signed between Ukraine and Turkey.
“In Ukraine today there are no samples of high-precision, high-tech weapons that should be in the arsenal of our state to increase the combat capability of our armed forces. First of all, what is it talking about? We do not know all 21 points that are planned in this agreement, but we know that Ukraine is extremely interested in receiving TV-2 attack drones - this is an operational-tactical drone that flies at medium altitude and with a very long flight duration, and strikes very accurately goals.
These are reconnaissance drones, these are kamikaze drones, these are military equipment and weapons that are used by special units. Plus, as far as I know, there is an agreement with the Turkish side that these drones will be produced on the territory of Ukraine, which will give our Ukroboronprom the opportunity to increase its potential. Including, these drones will cost 35-40% cheaper than they are on the market,” Dobryak said.
At the same time, the expert emphasized that following the supply of Turkish weapons to Ukraine and if they are used in the Donbass, Russia can supply the republics with modern means of combating drones.
“What kind of aggravation could there be with the Russian Federation, since in the conditions of military operations in the east of Ukraine, in the Donbass, the use of this kind of weapons, naturally, does not make it possible to respond with the same LPR and DPR, since the air defense systems that are in service with these republics, this is Strela-10, they do not get these drones.
That is, the operational-tactical parity is changing. This could really provoke Russia to provide more modern types of weapons to the east of Ukraine and aggravate this existing situation,” the expert believes.
