Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will arm himself with “charm and humor” at the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four countries, which will take place on December 9 in Paris.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the official, this is how Zelensky “steers” in difficult negotiations.
“I saw the president during a number of negotiations, of course, not with the head of state that attacked Ukraine, but I assure you that President Zelensky prepares extremely well for each negotiation, listens to the advice of different people and always acts reasonedly. At the same time, his personal charm and sense of humor help steer during some difficult moments in the right direction, in the interests of Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
The Deputy Prime Minister did not rule out a direct bilateral meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing that the “European partners” will be aware of its content.
“If it is necessary to hold a meeting in order to protect the interests of Ukraine, it will be held. If she gives you the opportunity to take a step forward. At the same time, I emphasize once again - no attempt to split us and our partners, no attempt to create the impression among the Ukrainian people that something was decided behind their back, this will not be allowed,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
At the same time, he classified Zelensky as one of the “grandmasters” of world politics.
“It is now very difficult to predict how this meeting will take place, because grandmasters will sit at the table - these are not amateurs and not people who will speak on the theses that will be prepared for them exclusively by professionals. Leaders of states who face very serious tasks will gather,” Kuleba added.
