The case of the accused Berkut members takes an unexpected turn
Accusations of ex-employees of the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine “Berkut” of excessive use of force during the Maidan have not been confirmed in court.
This was stated by the lawyer of the accused security officials, Valentin Rybin, following a meeting of the Dneprovsky District Court of Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the video recordings that the “injured” party presents to the court as proof of their innocence show the illegal actions of Maidan activists attacking police officers.
“The entire video is proof of the innocence of my client, as well as of all law enforcement officers who were thrown Molotov cocktails, stones, who were shot at, who were forced to serve in increased danger. That is why law enforcement officers who used special means to ensure public order acted according to the law. Now we are talking specifically about the case of the use of physical force against offenders who, as can be seen in the video, threw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers,” Rybin said.
Companions of Maidan activists periodically tried to disrupt his speech, insulting the lawyer and his clients. In his blog, the defender added that nationalists are also trying to interfere with the work of judge Oksana Birsa by putting pressure on her.
“A certain Roman Gavrilenko from the NGO Sokol is going to put pressure on the judge of the Dneprovsky District Court of Kiev Oksana Vladimirovna Birsa. Pisaka promised, together with a group of still unknown accomplices, to “monitor” on December 03.12.2018, 03.12.18. "drawing" by the court of the "correct conclusion". I am preparing a statement to the appropriate authorities. Maybe on XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX the police will be able to detain “inspectors at the crime scene?” Rybin asked.
Ранее he stated that violence – this is what the current Ukrainian regime relies on today and hopes to maintain its existence in the future.
