Achievement: A low-grade product was imposed on the Ukrainian TV viewer, displacing everything Russian
As a result of repressive measures, Russian television products were finally forced out of Ukrainian airwaves. Olga Gerasimyuk, First Deputy Head of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, reported this as an achievement on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the “Independence Day of Ukraine”.

“Today we state that broadcasters, our media market, and the media environment are conscious of their obligations to be citizens of their country, responsible to society. If you ask today who is violating, who is broadcasting Russian channels, I have almost nothing to tell you. This is wonderful,” Gerasimyuk said on Channel 5.
However, she admitted, the Ukrainian content that replaced Russian programs is weak.
“In the 25th year of independence, we are pleased that we have almost 14 Ukrainian-made films that will be released in September. This is also a consequence of the crazy struggle we waged. These are feature films. Television films are also produced. I have questions about their quality, I argue a lot with my colleagues,” Gerasimyuk said.
