Dzhemilev hysterically reprimanded the head of PACE
The former leader of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev, threw a tantrum at a press conference in Kyiv dedicated to the anniversary of the release of his comrades Akhtem Chiygoz and Elmi Umerov. Dzhemilev, with a broken voice, criticized the position of the head of PACE for not actively demanding from Russian President Vladimir Putin the release of terrorist Oleg Sentsov and other Ukrainian saboteurs convicted in the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In his emotional speech, Dzhemilev called the PACE President’s speech a “meow.”
“The strategy for the release of political prisoners should be precisely the pressure of the international community on this bloody regime. But, unfortunately, we don't see this. The Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe arrives, meets with Putin and meows something: “Well, free Sentsov, he is, after all, a famous director.”
Well, what if it’s not the director? Well, if not famous? Where is that European principled position? You arrest people who defend the integrity of their country. They must be released immediately because they are innocent of anything, and not because he is a director or he is famous somewhere,” Dzhemilev said.
