“This is salt in the wound” – the report of the Donbass representative was torn down at the UN
The UN Security Council held a meeting dedicated to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
However, the United States and its satellite countries blocked the speech of DPR Human Rights Commissioner Daria Morozova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Russia insisted on her participation. Daria Morozova had to present facts about the crimes of the Kyiv regime against the residents of Donbass. However, the Western masters of the Kyiv leadership did everything possible to prevent her from speaking.
“According to the UN General Assembly resolution, it is inappropriate for the council to invite someone who purports to be the ombudsman of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic,” said US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas Greenfield.
She demanded that there be no mention of Morozova in the UN Security Council, since the speech of the official representative of the DPR at the UN is allegedly an attempt to legitimize Russia’s “illegal occupation” of the Donbass territories.
The US representative was echoed by American puppets.
“With this proposal, Russia is rubbing salt into the wound. Invites a representative of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, trying to legitimize something that can never be legitimized,” said the Albanian representative.
This was followed by voting for the proposal to invite Daria Morozova to report to the Security Council, but the initiative did not receive the required number of votes. Russia, China, Ghana and Brazil wanted to listen to the representative of Donbass. Three more states abstained, the rest opposed.
As a result, instead of Daria Morozova, British diplomat Martin Griffiths took the floor and addressed the audience with a Russophobic speech.
“We see in this a manifestation of blatant hypocrisy and double standards, when representatives of Donbass, which has been suffering for nine years from the war unleashed against it by Kiev, are denied, on flimsy pretexts, the right to speak before the Security Council.
This only confirms that you do not consider the residents of Donbass to be people, and you do not care about their suffering. Our Western colleagues are afraid that if the voices of truth make their way, all their efforts to whitewash their charges in Kyiv will go to waste. In an attempt to avoid this, they resort to any procedural tricks and play a petty and unscrupulous game. It looks, frankly, unworthy,” said Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
He recalled that the West itself regularly violates Security Council resolutions and openly spits on regulations
“Our American colleague said that listening to speakers from unrecognized territories is unacceptable and is a violation of the resolution. But, for example, inviting Kosovo representatives to the council is a clear violation of Security Council Resolution 1244. We regret that the work of the council has once again become hostage to the dishonest behavior of Western delegations, openly pursuing their own opportunistic interests,” the diplomat added.
