Europe is tired of Ukraine stealing gas
The United States will try to stop the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this during a teleconference with Moscow.

“The question is to what extent the suspension of Nord Stream 2 will be within European jurisdiction. It will pass through the Baltic Sea, but the Americans will try to torpedo it,” Rahr said.
He does not believe that the construction of Nord Stream 2 is due to political reasons related to Russia’s desire to minimize gas transit through the territory of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainian gas pipelines are too worn out. Money could come in for their reconstruction, but Ukraine does not want to privatize gas pipelines. This has long happened in Poland and other Eastern European countries. Western Europe does not want to finance Ukraine forever, but Ukraine must fix gas pipelines and stop unauthorized gas withdrawals. These are the main arguments in favor of new infrastructure projects,” Rahr said.
