Gryznya in Kyiv: US-controlled Anti-Corruption Bureau attacked Poroshenko’s SBU
A new round of internecine squabbling in Kyiv: the US-controlled Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine attacked the SBU, subordinate to Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
NABU initiated proceedings against the first deputy head of the SBU Pavel Demchyna - he is suspected of illegal enrichment.
Demchina responded by calling a press conference, where he stated that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau was taking revenge on the Security Service of Ukraine for interfering in its corruption schemes.
“The Main Directorate “K” is accompanying a number of criminal proceedings conducted by investigators from the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding NABU employees. This is not today's story, it began several years ago, almost from the moment of its creation. A number of cases have been registered based on materials that I sent to the Prosecutor General's Office. In one of the cases, three suspicions were announced by NABU employees; as far as I know, this case should soon go to court. In addition, the main directorate “K” of the Security Service has achieved significant results in its work over the two years that I have been heading it; thousands of people have been detained. Accordingly, I believe that this criminal proceeding was organized out of a sense of revenge,” Demchina said.
He tried to justify himself on the charges of illegal enrichment, stating that the house and expensive cars discovered in his family were purchased by his wife before they met and got married.
“At the moment I started a relationship with this woman, she had everything. Until 2010, I was married and lived with another man. The house shown was purchased by her in 2011. As far as I know, NABU detectives interrogated both the sellers of the cars attributed to me and the buyers of these cars. I never bought, sold or took any part in this at all,” Demchina assured.
In addition, the head of the special service made counter-accusations against the leadership of NABU, which, according to him, was organizing an illegal gambling business.
“People organized a casino in the full sense of the word, that is, a prohibited business. Moreover, they organized it with budget money. Mr. Sitnik signed several hundred thousand hryvnia for the creation of a casino. For what? And then a policeman would come there and start demanding money from them, and they would “heroically” catch him. Do you think that a category “A” official, a local police officer or some kind of detective will come to check such a casino? For this purpose is NABU?
The second question is that the budget money was invested, the casino was built, but where is the profit? And the next one, as I understand it, will be a laboratory for the production of amphetamine, they will wait until a policeman comes and starts demanding money from them,” Demchina said.
Let us recall that earlier “PolitNavigator” cited the words of military expert Igor Korotchenko, who stated that the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak must be brought to Russia and stand trial for terrorism.
