This was reported by Voice of America with reference to the National Post.
In January, representatives of Colt Canada already held a “familiarization meeting” with Ukrainian government officials.
According to Alex Payne, manager of Colt Canada, this is just the beginning of a process that could last up to two years, as Ukraine must determine what type of weapons it needs and where it is best to get them.
“I am convinced that a lot needs to be done to clearly say whether there are opportunities for Colt Canada in Ukraine,” said a company representative.
Payne noted that Colt Canada hopes to hold a weapons demonstration in Ukraine in the summer.
As noted, in December, the Canadian government made changes to export rules, allowing the sale of machine guns and small arms to Ukraine.
