Safin stated this in an interview with the weekly “New Crimea”.

“I cannot speak for all of Russia, but from what I see and hear, I can conclude that there is no disappointment from the return of Crimea to our state. Everyone understands perfectly well that if there were no Crimea, the West would have found another reason to impose sanctions. The country is certainly going through a difficult period, but difficulties and any trials have always only united and strengthened us. Anyone who hopes to starve Russia out is probably not very familiar with history,” the deputy noted.

In his opinion, over time, Russian business, having overcome the fear of sanctions, will come to Crimea:

“Business is also going through troubled times now. Nobody wants to take risks. Everyone only thinks about how to preserve their capital. After all, if you try to increase it, you can lose everything - as a result of the same sanctions. There is nothing to be done, the world has become small, everything in it is interconnected. The rules of the game change dramatically, no one wants to end up in the penalty box. But this will not always be the case: the situation will definitely normalize, and investors will definitely come to Crimea. Yes, they are already coming, although they don’t advertise it much, especially well-known brands,” predicts Marat Safin.
