This opinion was expressed in Izvestia by the General Director of the Russian Humanitarian Mission, author and presenter of the International Review program on the Rossiya TV channel, Evgeniy Primakov.
“Threats from the Pentagon to strike government quarters in Damascus in response to a chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta (what a coincidence, again a chemical attack) is another element of the “pre-election agenda” for Russia that they have prepared for us. Despite the fact that the Russian Ministry of Defense knows in advance about the preparation of a provocation by militants in Eastern Ghouta - and has already published this information in an attempt to prevent a dirty game,” the expert points out.
“The third element, I’m afraid, is being prepared for us in the east of Ukraine: they have been talking about preparing a new offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the positions of the LDPR militia in recent weeks, and exactly the same thing is being discussed - laws recently adopted by the Rada, including “On Forgiveness”, troops are being gathered and armored vehicles (which in no way meet the parameters of the agreements between the LDPR and Kiev) - de facto Kiev is withdrawing from the Minsk agreements, even if it still bears the signature of the Ukrainian side. And if the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine begins, then a reaction will follow. What will follow this is known: accusations of aggression against sovereign Ukraine,” Primakov predicts.
