Clans aligned with Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Petro Poroshenko are protecting the income from the Odessa port plant and are making plans to benefit from its privatization.

“It’s about the HMO, they are very afraid of him. This is a rubicon business, where different clans have always fit in like a cash cow. This enterprise was divided into two parts. One was supervised by the Yatsenyuk and Martynenko clan. Second clan - Kononenko-Granovsky (close to Poroshenko) – supervised export issues. We took on this matter, but were unable to complete it due to the fact that I was fired,” said an associate of Mikheil Saakashvili.
