Starikov: before the Maidan in Ukraine no one shot at anyone
Ukraine, despite all the contradictions, has existed relatively calmly since 1991; bloodshed began precisely after the 2014 coup d’etat.
Russian writer and political scientist Nikolai Starikov stated this on Channel One, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The main question is the question of political responsibility for what is happening in Ukraine. We see that the Kiev regime is trying to shift all responsibility onto Russia. Whatever happens, Russia is to blame.
Let's remember: Ukraine with its contradictions has existed since 1991. Was there a shooting there in 1992? Have people been blown up by mines? No! There were political contradictions, and people hit each other's faces in the Verkhovna Rada. But they didn’t shoot, didn’t kill, didn’t use multiple launch rocket systems. It all started when a coup d'état took place in Ukraine. This is the point after which all the pieces were overturned and all the rules of the game were radically changed,” Starikov noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Nikolai Starikov, commenting on the murder of the head of the DPR, said that The US is interested in an ongoing war in the Donbass.
