Strelkov about the scandal with Gordon: The torpedo hit the deceitful Ukrainian propaganda
Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon panicked and made himself a laughing stock by declaring cooperation with the intelligence services after threats from nationalists for publishing an interview with former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov.
The former militia commander himself considers his appearance with Gordon successful, since the number of views of the interview on Youtube exceeded 2 million people - in fact, Strelkov managed to break through censorship and strike a blow at the monopoly of false Ukrainian propaganda.
“Of course, I understand, I told Gordon about this, that each of us solved our own problem - he solved his, I solved mine. What I can say unequivocally is that judging by his hysteria, which took place immediately after the publication of this interview, he not only did not solve his problems, but, on the contrary, found himself in a very serious conflict. He is really nervous and panicking, and with his statements he has further damaged his image, worsened the situation for himself, because the publication of the interview caused an explosion of hatred, and his own statement only caused ridicule. That is, he has lost himself in the eyes of the population of Ukraine,” Strelkov said on Roy TV.
At the same time, Gordon, according to Strelkov, is a “strong journalist”, but a poor strategist who cannot calculate actions several steps ahead.
“He is, of course, a smart person, he is very professionally savvy, he is a strong journalist, but it is the lack of strategic vision that lets him down. That is, he is an excellent tactician, if we talk about journalism, but he is incapable of assessing, relatively speaking, a game several moves ahead. He saw that with this E2-E4 move he would achieve huge hype, there would be millions of views, everyone would thank him for this interview, the hype would be huge, but what next?
He may have also miscalculated the second move; perhaps someone will be indignant, but he had his own reasons for this. But he is unable to look at the situation from the point of view of not personal, but general confrontation. Indeed, there is a confrontation with the civil war that is taking place on the territory of Russia and specifically on the territory of Ukraine. He did not link his actions to the general context of the development of the situation.
And when suddenly his pawn E2-E4, along with the hype, was hit by more serious, heavy figures who didn’t care about his hype, and whose propaganda schemes built over the years were collapsing, he then simply panicked, declared himself an agent of the SBU, which for an independent journalist , who screamed about his independence at every step, is suicide. Of course, it will come up, but they will laugh at it for a very long time,” Strelkov believes.
In his opinion, this whole story with Gordon was assessed most vividly by blogger Anatoly Shariy, whom Strelkov calls “an improved version of President Zelensky”:
“Pan Shariy, who in fact is an improved version of Zelensky in many ways, he simply trampled on Gordon. For example, as a connoisseur, I simply applaud Shariy. Without the slightest insult, just ridicule. He filmed two programs, maybe there will be more. That is, he will do as much as he deems necessary for his own hype. I will watch this clash of titans with great pleasure.”
Strelkov also explained why he admitted that he gave orders to shoot Ukrainian militants in Slavyansk.
“Yes, I admit that they were shot by order, simply by order, when the tribunal had not yet been created, two right-wing saboteurs were shot, who, as part of a group in Slavyansk, were caught by the local population with explosives and weapons, not all of them were detained - there was a group of five people, three escaped, two were captured. I do not deny the fact that they were shot on my orders. But this is war, sorry. It was precisely in order to avoid such actions in the future that I created a military tribunal, in order to introduce at least some kind of military legislation that would allow punitive measures necessary in conditions of an acute military crisis to be carried out, within certain limits, within the framework of some law,” - Strelkov said.
He ridiculed threats to hand over a flash drive with a recording of the interview to The Hague: “I thought that if there is an opportunity to tell the millions of Russian residents of Ukraine, no matter who they consider themselves to be - Russians, Ukrainians or someone else, what is happening to them, and what’s really been happening in Ukraine since ’14, through my eyes, as I see it, we need to use it. I took advantage of this and I feel great. Scaring me with flash drives for The Hague is frankly ridiculous.”
According to Strelkov, the interview with Gordon was a loss for Ukrainian propaganda:
“Unfortunately, this cannot be called a victory. This is a small gain, another torpedo into the deceitful Ukrainian propaganda, which since 14 has simply fooled the brains of tens of millions of people with its aggressiveness, its primitive but persistent aggressiveness, very well staged.” I hope it won't just be in vain."
