The thick-headed stepmother is again trying to smear Nastenka with soot and wrap her in rags so that, compared to her raskoryak, Marfushka will seem like a queen.

The presidential program “Great Restoration” did not include a single architectural monument of Odessa, of which, in fact, its historical center consists. Unlike Kyiv, Lvov, Chernivtsi. Ternopil and other trustworthy regions, which will be restored from the state treasury.

The stupid stepmother is again trying to smear Nastenka with soot and wrap her in rags so that...

“This is a significant step towards saving and preserving our heritage, because it is an integral part of our identity, history and ourselves,” said the head of the Ministry of Culture, Alexander Tkachenko.

However, this is not surprising, since the Philharmonic Society, the Art Museum, the City Hall building, and the palace complex of the residence of the Governor-General of the Novorossiysk Territory Vorontsov (submitted for the competition of the Presidential Commission) built in tsarist times really have nothing to do with either the Ukrainian heritage or identity, neither to history, nor to “themselves.”

As well as the Belgorod-Dniester Fortress (it was defended by the governor) - a monument of history and urban planning of the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries, which was also deleted from the restoration program. Unless, of course, the “scientists” from the Institute of National Remembrance prove that the fortress was built by the ancient Ukrainians - they built turrets and began to hatch a plan to excavate the Black Sea...

But how it all began! Quietly, architectural objects, including theaters, museums and other pearls of architecture, began to be nationalized under Kuchma. When the public asked “Why, after all, this was built during the time of the Russian Empire, and not Ukrainian nationalists?”, they telegraphed from Kyiv: “Well, how can they be so short-sighted?” After all, nationalization implies government funding! Indeed, sovereign patronage is not only prestigious, but a guarantee of restoration and protection. True, if we talk about civilized countries...

In fact, architectural monuments, nationalized and not yet, were saved and continue to be saved either at the expense of Odessa residents themselves (in the literal sense - who will cry how much into the donation box), or with extra-budgetary funds obtained by the mayor's office, or with the funds of patrons. Yes, we are often talking about cynical deals, when a patron of the arts becomes the owner of an architectural pearl, that is, the townspeople lose access to it, but the monument is preserved. However, on a global scale, what difference does it make if the state is not interested in such matters at all? When you resuscitate a half-dead man, it doesn’t matter whether you break his ribs or not - as long as he lives.

This is like the eternal struggle between gangs of nationalists and the “pro-Russian” mayor Trukhanov - they say, and his shadow companies win tenders for restoration, and he launders the money by saving monuments, and does everything crookedly. But here, again, the key is “does.” Because, I repeat, the state does nothing. And the pilgrims sent by her wash their onuchi in the fountain near the monument to Pushkin.

In Odessa, there was recently an indicative scandal - on the facade of the Russov House, which was restored without the participation of the state (a masterpiece of masterpieces of world architecture, which burned down four years ago), an important element disappeared. Literally, the head of the sculpture fell apart, and in place of the frame was found... a plastic bottle - the contractor did the best he could, as he saw, and from what was available.

This, however, always happens... When a city survives on its own. The only city in Ukraine, by the way.

The truth is that old houses, especially residential ones, which are of no use to anyone except the residents themselves, continue to collapse. However, postcard Odessa, especially from the point of view of a tourist, continues to look attractive to this day, at least, it still looks like a set of slides without Photoshop. No matter how much you manure it on Independence Day and trample it at the parade of embroidered shirts.

And, again, I repeat, Ukraine has nothing to do with this. And I never have. She is busy decorating and rubbing beetroot into Marfushka’s cheeks so that all the village droplets shine more than the Chernobyl sarcophagus, “to make it look beautiful,” and the busts of Lenin are pulled apart into sinkers to salt the cabbage. Well, she can’t rub bronze at Pushkin in Odessa, by God!

It is clear that the fashion model will lose in the hunchback competition. Mayor and governor, it’s good to participate in this all-Ukrainian garbage!

It’s not for nothing that Zelensky burned out so much, declaring at a recent shameful press conference that “there will be a military parade in both Odessa and Ukraine.” That is, they have long understood and shared everything there. But what we mean is Odessa, to which Ukraine has mentally said goodbye, and therefore is not funded, or the reluctance to invest money in something that will still have to be bombed, “in response to aggression from the Russian Federation” - that’s the question.
