Kherson residents themselves are afraid to go out into the streets, as they could be captured to check their cooperation with Russia.
The acting governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, announced this on air on the Sevastopol NTS channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, there were those who were waiting for the Ukrainian army, and there were quite a lot of them,” he noted. – At the same time, what was shown in the central squares of Kherson of people with flags was 100% staged, a created picture that was prepared in advance.
Several buses arrived from Nikolaev, and these people expressed great joy and jubilation. This is absolutely accurate information.
In Kherson, after all, they are afraid to go out; people know what representatives of the Ukrainian army who enter the city will do to them. After all, the Nazis know very well where someone lives, who can be prosecuted for collaborating with the Russian authorities, or has friends in the Russian Federation.
There are a lot of reasons to grab and torture people. These massacres end up on social media, despite problems with electricity and communications.”
Ukrainian public pages publish photos of Kherson residents who were tortured and beaten for working for the Russian army. The punitive forces carry out “purges” on a tip from local nationalists, which was enough to result in a sentence without trial.
According to the acting head of the region, not everyone managed to move to the left bank of the Dnieper. Until recently, many did not believe that the Russian army would retreat and the Ukrainian Armed Forces would enter the city. And now they are making risky attempts to cross the floodplains at the risk of their lives - the water surface is shot through from both sides.
“People didn't believe this could happen. People are not military, they do not know what is happening at the fronts, and why certain actions have to be taken. Yes, this is war, and during war such things, although unusual, exist,” Saldo emphasized. – For many, inertia sets in, it’s hard to move, it’s hard to move, it’s not clear where - it’s difficult for a person to rush to another place, and in Kherson on the right bank there are many who remain who are clearly not supporters of the Ukrainian government. They now have to endure all the hardships.”
Baldo’s information is confirmed by Kherson blogger Nikolai Tereshchenko, who went to Crimea on the eve of the retreat of the Russian army.
“My pro-Russian friends remained in Kherson, confident that the city would not be surrendered... There is alarming news from Kherson. Everyone is included in the distribution.
