Although the flags of the Ukrainian Ukrainian Armed Forces are raised all over Ukraine as a sign of solidarity, and the captured crews of Ukrainian armored boats are portrayed as heroes in the media, it must be admitted that for Kiev the story of the attempt to break through the Kerch Strait turned into a shameful defeat.
This was stated in an interview with the Ukrlife.TV channel by the ex-head of the right-wing radical organization UNA-UNSO Dmitry Korchinsky, who was previously put on the wanted list in Russia for participating in the war in the Caucasus on the side of the Chechen separatists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was a shameful defeat, our people were captured again, our ships were taken away, but we had to shoot back with pistols.
If we decided to sacrifice these ships, and it had to be a blood sacrifice, then it better be an act of heroism. Even absurd heroism, not an act of shame.
In fact, it is very bad when our people go to prison, these are shameful things. And you can’t go to shame.
We already got drunk on all this in 2014. Those. suffer some kind of shame again? – Korchinsky was indignant.
According to him, the surrender of the Navy crews with boats occurred against the backdrop of the successes of the Ukrainian army, which continues to occupy the “gray zone” in Donbass.
“...We can shoot back, we can move in the gray zone, we can kill them more than they kill us. And then we are reminded that we are weak. Why then were there all these last four years?” – Korchinsky laments.
