American general: The US does not have enough air defense systems for Ukraine
The United States has nothing left to transfer to Ukraine to protect its skies from Russian attacks. There are not enough air defense systems even for partners in Europe.
Former commander of the US European Army Ben Hodges said this on the Internet blog of fugitive Russian liberal Mark Feigin, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Hodges, the United States did not count on such a large-scale attack by the Russian Armed Forces.
“We in the West, even in the United States, in the troops, in the army there are not enough troops, there is not enough air protection for all of Europe. Only one battalion of "Patriots" in all of Europe. Of course, what have we learned in the last eight months? That the requirements are much higher than we thought. “I thought before that the demand would be to protect airfields and seaports, but now it is clear that the Kremlin will use million-dollar missiles against apartment buildings and civilian objects,” the general said.
"So the requirements for missile defense are much greater than we expected and thought... But in this case, we just don't have anything else to transfer," Hodges said.
